Paint Preparation

Good prep is a major factor in producing high-quality results and it starts with protecting your property! First, we cover floors in the work areas with cotton tarps. Furniture and accessories are protected under clean plastic sheeting. Work materials and supplies are kept on tarps.

Rooms are prepared for paint in one or more of the following ways: switch covers and door handles are removed and later replaced. Soiled surfaces cleaned. Wall surfaces lightly sanded. Doors and woodwork cleaned and de-glossed for strong new paint adhesion. Gaps in wood trim and walls are caulked. Primers applied. Surfaces not to be painted are protected with masking materials.
